Welcome Address
“At least, after a long period of sanitary restrictions, the 2023 Congress of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SIB) will take place in Florence, from September 7th to 9th , allowing in-presence interaction of all our community of Biochemists.
To give attendees the best experience, and to promote networking and interaction, we do anticipate having all faculty and speakers present onsite in Florence. Online presentations are therefore not foreseen. Nevertheless, we are pleased to announce a new hybrid format, offering virtual exploitation of the meeting to attendees, of course at a reduced fare.
The meeting will be held in my hometown, hosted by University of Florence, covering in three days many keyaspects of our biochemical community. Selected topics will embrace cancer metabolism and epigenetics, lipid communication, moonlighting proteins, redox and mitochondria biochemistry, omics and biotechnological approaches, membrane-less organelles, protein aggregation and degenerative diseases.
I am also proud of the outstanding keynote lectures and the large poster sessions, surely allowing the growth of the whole SIB community, offering opportunities to share new ideas and set up fruitful collaborations.
I am sure the wide and comprehensive program will be of broad interest and I am looking forward to a large participation, also considering the discounted fees for young SIB members and the wonderful city hosting the meeting,
See you soon in Florence”,
Paola Chiarugi
